here i have begun with quick gesture in cobalt blue watercolor using a long bristled liner brush for a loose line, then work in pencil...sometimes go back with more watercolor.. the last one is just brush and color..the red is the chair

Martin Pate organizes a fig drawing group, he is sooo adept! he used conte and a bit of pastel color notes..I started that way..(actually I am using a brown lumber marking crayon from Lowes hardware...but the pencil jumps up to be used!! and i can't resist lithe lines
